About Lisa Wagner Erickson
Lisa Wagner Erickson is a playwright, theatre artist, and educator based in Denver, Colorado. A 2020 True West Award winner and a regional finalist for the KCACTF 10-Minute Play Award, she has also been a PlayPenn semi-finalist and a Landing Theatre’s New American Voices semi-finalist. Her plays have been developed and produced across the United States by Primary Stages, Estrogenius Extended at Manhattan Theatre Source, Stickball Productions, the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Lesley University, No Strings Theatre Company, Lulubird Project, And Toto too Theatre Company, and the Edge Theatre Company, among others. She has been a featured playwright at the Denver Center for the Arts New Play Summit Local Playwrights Slam and a guest artist at the Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing for Stage and Screen from Lesley University.
Her full-length plays include THE MRS. WHEATLAND PAGEANT, A SHINY QUEST, and THE TITLE IX EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM HAS SOME ISSUES.
THE MRS. WHEATLAND PAGEANT received a premiere in 2019 at Theater 29 in Denver and was subsequently produced in New Mexico by No Strings Theatre in Las Cruces.
An audio play based on A SHINY QUEST premiered in Project PlayBox in 2020. Denver Westword called project Project PlayBox, “a novel theatrical experience for these stay-at-home, virus-plagued times.”
Step On Me has been produced in Boston and California. The Boston Globe called the play, “a hilarious short play that toys with one woman’s obsession with her bathroom scale.”
Other short plays include Do It for Francine (DIRTYFISH Theater; And Toto too), No Place Like Gnome (And Toto too; Lulubird Project), But I’m a Witch (Playwrights of the Western Region Staged Reading; 10 x 10 In The Triangle semi-finalist), We’re Perfect for Each Other (And Toto too), Respect? (Denver Day Plays).
She is the Creative Director and a co-founder of Theater 29, a playwright-driven venue in Denver, founder of the Lulubird Project, and a member of the Dramatists Guild.
